Drago Endorses: Major

We have been meaning to check out Major for a while now. In case you have missed all the internet NikeTalk.com buzz, Major is a new sneaker and streetwear boutique which opened recently in Georgetown. They are located in an understated store front at 1426 Wisconsin Ave. NW. They don’t have a big sign out front, just their logo frosted onto the front door, so we walked past it a couple times.

Once inside, we were impressed by their selection of sneakers. Our favorite sneakers are Dunks, Blazers and Vandals, all of which they had several different colors of. They also had a bunch of other Nikes, Jordans, Adidas and Reeboks, but we weren’t really checking them out.

They carry all the brands that are staples of streetwear, such as Mighty Healthy, The Hundreds, Flying Coffin, etc., as well as some smaller brands. All of their tees and hoodies are on wood hangers with a price sticker on the hanger, which makes browsing easy. Naturally, they have a bunch of Nationals fitteds and New Era x Major hats. We picked up the King of DC hat, which we thought New Era had only made for NY and LA.

We were disappointed though, to see that they didn’t have any denim on display. What’s up with that? I mean, there’s dozens of places to buy jeans in Georgetown so it’s whatever, but you’d think they would try to sell it.

The decor of the store is very “lobby of a famous recording studio,” full of gold and platinum records that the founders of the store were involved with and flat screen TVs on the walls. When we were there, the TVs were showing skateboarding and the sound system was playing old-school hip hop. Their point of sale machine is an Apple iMac, which is a nice touch.

Overall, it’s a cool store and we predict big things from them in the future.

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article , but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
