The Drago We__ite: No BS Allowed

Drago Endorses: College Life Magazine

Back in the days when we were just starting to seriously consider starting a clothing brand for real, we co-hosted a party with College Life Magazine. And when we say co-hosted, what we really mean is that DJ LS from 360 Nightlife called us up and was like “hey, bring some t-shirts to this party at Eyebar and start promoting yourself, I’ll send out a MySpace message about it.”

So we showed up there with our little entourage and some hand-printed bandannas and t-shirts and some business cards that the ink had just dried on, and we started passing our stuff out and hanging around with the College Life models getting our picture taken and stuff. Belvedere Vodka was also hosting the party, so the models were pouring us and our friends a bunch of free shots and it was really just such a great experience.

The thing that was the coolest part about it was that the College Life models were doing a photo-shoot upstairs from the club and, because of our little business cards and “I’m here from Drago Clothing, I’m co-hosting this party, talk to LS about it” swagger, we got to sit in on it. Now, it wasn’t the first time we had been involved in a photoshoot, but it was the first time we sort-of-bullshitted our way into one, so that was really fun to do.

So that was the night that we really decided that we needed to get our line started and be involved in that whole fashion/modeling/nightlife world more heavily. A lot of that decision had to do with how friendly and accepting everybody from College Life Magazine was to us, even though they didn’t know who we were at all. So, Thanks guys!

College Life has been exclusively on the internet until now, but they are launching their first print issue this spring. We’d really like to do a marketing push with them for their first issue and our first real seasonal release in Spring 2007. Holler at us.
