Drago Endorses: Dobizo.com

Posted by Drago in Grown-Ass Man, Internet

Just a heads up for anybody else who wants to start a clothing company, or really any kind of indie business, check out Dobizo.com. It’s a website created by a fashion industry insider who gives advice to the young start-ups. We wish we had known about this website a year ago, it would have saved us some of the time and money we spent learning things the hard way.

Another good resource for small business owners is the U.S. Small Business Administration. We’ve just started getting into the website, but there’s a lot of really interesting and important stuff in there.

Drago Endorses: I Think I Love My Wife

love my wife

This new Chris Rock movie is pretty good. It has a positive, pro-black, pro-family message without being lame. It still has a lot of Chris Rock’s signature “I hate white people, but I hate stupid black people even more” even though Chris is mellowing some with age. It has a lot of New York vs. everywhere else humor. It has a lot of social class based humor.

But most importantly, it reinforced two of our deep-seated preconceived notions: (more…)

Drago Endorses: Hanging out with people who are different from you

Posted by Drago in Grown-Ass Man, Drinking, DC

Last night we were at The Ugly Mug in southeast DC and we had the pleasure of drinking with a group of really cool Gallaudet students. Gallaudet is a college in DC that is almost exclusively for deaf people. They invented the football huddle.

Drago Endorses: Barak Obama’s internet networking

obama

Barak Obama is one of the younger men to ever run for president and has been using this fact to try to connect to our generation. Even though at 45 he could easily be our dad, he looks younger than he is and he needs to play that up as much as possible.

In order to appeal to the internet generation, Obama is using many of the tools that the internet has to offer. He has a Facebook account, a Flickr account, YouTube, and even his own version of MySpace where you can talk about how great he is.

We’ve added him as a friend on Facebook, but it begs an interesting question. Do we really want the next president to know that we are attending “Jeff’s B-Day Shitshow?”

Drago Endorses: Simple MySpace pages

Posted by Drago in Grown-Ass Man, Internet

If your MySpace page makes our computer lock up for twenty seconds while it loads all of the stupid bullshit .gifs and videos that you have on your MySpace page, we hate you. Nobody thinks that glittering “Bad Girls Rule!” picture is as cool as you do.

Drago Endorses: The Polar Bear Plunge for the Special Olympics

Posted by Drago in Baltimore, Grown-Ass Man, Philanthropy

MA

We learned of this event through its connection to the radio station 98 Rock. The Polar Bear Plunge is basically thousands of people jumping into the freezing cold Chesapeake Bay in the end of January. As well as the Plunge, there are vendors and other stuff set-up all along the Sandy Point Beach.

We’ve aligned ourselves with Team Mickey, which is named for a rude, impish DJ on 98 Rock. We are looking forward to meeting Mickey, Amelia, Scott, Lick-a-lot, and the rest of the 98 Rock family. But mostly, we want to meet Steph and Josh Spiegel who are seriously the only reasons why we used to listen to the 98 Rock Morning Show last year when it was just two fat homophobic sloths talking about what they wanted to watch on TV later that night.

Drago Endorses: Lil’ Wayne

Lil’ Wayne is the best rapper alive. It’s a fact. It’s the the kind of undeniable fact that you should try to work into as many conversations as possible; it’ll make you look smart.

Oh, you don’t believe us? Don’t ask me how I know this, but there is a simple trick you can do to prove it to yourself.

The first step is to listen to Tha Carter 2. Then listen to DJ Drama Presents The Dedication 2. Then listen to all the features and remixes he’s done in the last year.

Still not convinced? Don’t ask me how I know this, but here is what you do. Go to your bathroom and look at yourself in the mirror. It’s important that you look directly into your own eyes. Turn out the lights and repeat three times “Lil’ Wayne is not the best rapper alive.” Then turn the lights back on. When you turn the lights back on, continue looking into your own eyes in the mirror, that’s very important.

Don’t ask me how I know this, but after a few moments, you are going to start feeling like you are being watched. You will want to look away, but you must keep looking at yourself in the mirror.

Don’t ask me how I know this, but you are going to see something out of the corner of your left eye. Don’t look at it, I beg you! The shape is going to slowly grow larger, until it seems like it is just behind your shoulder, just out of your peripheral vision…
