Gym Class Heroes is our favorite band. You won’t hear us say that about anybody else. Their lyrics resonate with our souls, their music makes us want to dance and their swagger makes us want to copy them.

Drago Endorses: Michel Gondry’s Speaking Voice

Posted by Drago in Movies, Hip Hop

Do yourself a favor and download the GQ audio podcast episode 8 off of iTunes. It’s free, just do it.

Michel Gondry, director of The Science of Sleep and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, is interviewed about how he directed Dave Chappelle’s Block Party. It’s funny how he talks about all the creative direction that he had in directing what is basically a concert movie. But the real story is how French and fey his voice is. Can you imagine Michel and Chappelle hanging out and talking about making the movie? Listening to all the slang and dialects, when he barely speaks English? Hilarious.

Drago Endorses: White dummies who make their own rap videos

Posted by Drago in Movies, Hip Hop, Music

Seriously, watch this video.

We like it. We don’t know if it’s the attempt at Jim Jones’ voice in the second verse, the oversized dollar bills, the fact that they got the one black guy in town to drop a verse but he obviously wasn’t invited to the main video shoot, or just the high school-ness of making a song about your mom yelling at you, but these boys have a hit on their hands.

Drago Endorses: Major

major

We have been meaning to check out Major for a while now. In case you have missed all the internet NikeTalk.com buzz, Major is a new sneaker and streetwear boutique which opened recently in Georgetown. They are located in an understated store front at 1426 Wisconsin Ave. NW. They don’t have a big sign out front, just their logo frosted onto the front door, so we walked past it a couple times.

Once inside, we were impressed by their selection of sneakers. Our favorite sneakers are Dunks, Blazers and Vandals, all of which they had several different colors of. They also had a bunch of other Nikes, Jordans, Adidas and Reeboks, but we weren’t really checking them out.

Drago Endorses: Lil’ Wayne

Lil’ Wayne is the best rapper alive. It’s a fact. It’s the the kind of undeniable fact that you should try to work into as many conversations as possible; it’ll make you look smart.

Oh, you don’t believe us? Don’t ask me how I know this, but there is a simple trick you can do to prove it to yourself.

The first step is to listen to Tha Carter 2. Then listen to DJ Drama Presents The Dedication 2. Then listen to all the features and remixes he’s done in the last year.

Still not convinced? Don’t ask me how I know this, but here is what you do. Go to your bathroom and look at yourself in the mirror. It’s important that you look directly into your own eyes. Turn out the lights and repeat three times “Lil’ Wayne is not the best rapper alive.” Then turn the lights back on. When you turn the lights back on, continue looking into your own eyes in the mirror, that’s very important.

Don’t ask me how I know this, but after a few moments, you are going to start feeling like you are being watched. You will want to look away, but you must keep looking at yourself in the mirror.

Don’t ask me how I know this, but you are going to see something out of the corner of your left eye. Don’t look at it, I beg you! The shape is going to slowly grow larger, until it seems like it is just behind your shoulder, just out of your peripheral vision…

Drago Endorses: Puff Daddy being creepy

Puff

That song Dead Wrong by Notorious B.I.G. and Eminem just came on our iPod’s random playlist. You know that part of the song where Big is talking about raping a bunch of people and he says something like “Cause I like them young, fresh and green, with no hair in between, know what I mean?” In the background, you can hear Puff Puff saying “I know what you mean.” We think that’s terrific.

Drago Endorses: Young Dro

dro

This rapper has an interesting voice, a good flow and an entourage who are as talented as he is. He has T.I.’s stamp of approval, which means a lot more than it did even a year ago, as lately T.I. has the midas touch. This rapper’s penchant for Polo clothes and ecstasy rivals even the richest frat boy. Also, the first single off his album set the clubs on fire all summer.
